Personalized Nutrition Labs Recommendations
Introducing a new part of our care: Personalized lab recommendations
What are personalized lab recommendations?
Personalized lab recommendations are specific laboratory tests based on your health history, current symptoms, medications, diet, and goals. Tests can include (but are not limited to) routine blood panels, nutrient status tests (iron, vitamin D, B12, folate), metabolic markers (lipids, glucose, A1c), thyroid function, inflammatory markers, and specialized tests when appropriate (e.g., food sensitivity testing, micronutrient panels).
How we decide what to recommend
Review of your intake: current diet, supplements, and symptoms.
Medical and medication review: chronic conditions, recent diagnoses, medications that impact nutrient status.
What you can expect
Clear rationale: For each recommended test your dietitian will provide a short explanation — what is being tested, why it matters for your health, and how results could change your nutrition plan.
Practical instructions: Where to get the test and if fasting is required.
Follow-up plan: A review appointment to interpret results in plain language and to translate findings into actionable nutrition and lifestyle steps.
Why this matters to you
Efficiency: Targeted testing avoids trial-and-error approaches that can be costly and frustrating.
Tracking progress: Repeat testing over time shows whether an intervention is working, allowing adjustments without guessing.
Empowerment: Objective results provide clarity and often reduce anxiety about “not knowing.” They turn symptoms into measurable targets.
Costs and access
Tests can usually be ordered through a local lab, your primary care provider, or directly through our available lab services depending on your situation and insurance.
Your dietitian will provide clear instructions to make the process as simple as possible.
Privacy and collaboration
Your results are part of your medical information and will be handled confidentially.
With your permission, your dietitian can coordinate with your primary care provider, endocrinologist, or other clinicians to ensure integrated care and appropriate medical follow-up.
